La Fortuna Waterfall in Costa Rica

La Fortuna Waterfall is located in central Costa Rica near the Alejuela Province, administered by a local non-profit association. It is a natural resource that emerges from a dense rainforest in the Arenal Mountain range. La Fortuna Waterfall is connected to the Tenario River, which runs through the Arenal Mountain. This waterfall plummets about 200 feet into a clear emerald pool and it is called La Fortuna Waterfall because it is a short distance from the small town La Fortuna. This little town attracts many tourists and includes many hotels. At these hotels, tourists can purchase a hiking trip or horseback riding to go to the waterfall. The entrance fee to the waterfall is $8 USD per person, and prices for either activity may vary.
